San Remo Preschool is the last remaining not-for-profit independently run kindergarten in Gippsland. We are managed by a group of volunteer parents who form the Committee of Management. We have partnered with Bass Coast Health to share the premises with the Maternal and Child Health Nurse team. And have recently reached our 50th year of welcoming families from San Remo, Phillip Island, and the surrounding area to our kinder.
Our Kindergarten Educators are highly qualified, experienced and they are committed to ensuring that all children and families feel welcomed, safe, secure, and supported.
Our Kinder programs are developed and guided by the National Quality Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework and Early Years Learning Framework and is underpinned by our services Philosophy of learning.
The aim is to create and sustain a culture which fosters and delivers high quality teaching, programming and practice that advance children’s learning and development in a secure, safe, supportive environment where each child feels they belong.
Our long term and medium-term environments are planned so that all children can engage at their own pace with high quality interactions between children with peers and educators.
Our educators are very responsive to the children’s and the groups needs, ideas, and interests. The focus remains on the ‘why’, not just the ‘how’ and facilitating children learning.
We value community at San Remo Preschool and encourage family involvement wherever possible. And we are always seeking opportunities to engage our broader community.
San Remo Preschool is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
We acknowledge the Bunurong people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we are gathered and pay our respects to their Elders, both past, present, and emerging.
